The main display opens with the earliest opinion: 72 hours (three full days) after the traditional molad, once it is nighttime and the moon is visible. A widespread custom is to wait longer, including seven full days after the molad or the first Motzei Shabbos; in Tishrei until after Yom Kippur, in Av until after Tisha B'Av, and in Sivan until after Shavuos. For the end of the month, the main display follows the Maharil's half-month boundary, codified by the Rema (Orach Chaim 426:3); the later view shows the Mechaber's separate 15-full-day boundary. Some opinions discuss reciting Kiddush Levana on day 16 without a bracha. A rov should be contacted for that case. These are calculated views of cited opinions, not a practical ruling.

The astronomical and zmanim calculations use KosherJava, including the traditional molad, 72-hour and seven-day starting points, Rama half-month endpoint, 15-day endpoint, sunset, dawn, moonrise, and moonset for the selected coordinates and time zone. This beta displays nightfall at 50 minutes after sunset. Weather uses current Open-Meteo cloud cover. The calculation model and wording are undergoing rabbinic review; this tool does not issue a practical ruling.
